- Jordan Middle School had two Orchestra students selected to participate in the Countywide Honors Orchestra.
- Jordan Middle School received two of the 2022 Bright Ideas Grants from Jackson EMC. One grant was awarded for STEM and the other was awarded for The Microbit V2, where we could purchase additional 3D printers.
- Jordan Middle School received three Central Cluster Foundation grants to support school initiatives. Grant were received for our Drones Club with Katie Martin, Theater productions with Joseph Bryan, and 3D Printing Club with Marissa Brown and Crystal Sanders. Our school was recognized as having the most teachers to apply as well as the most teachers to receive grants.
- Jordan Middle School received recognition as an Operational PBIS school in Gwinnett County Public Schools.
- Jordan Middle School has received a foundational charter for the H. Rhodes Jordan National Junior Honor Society. Our school will be able to recognize the superior accomplishments of our students through this charter. Based on the academic standing of our students, over 100 students were identified as meeting the standards of an NJHS member.
- Jordan Middle School hosted our first annual Career Day. Professionals from various careers came out to talk to our students about a variety of careers available to them. Students were able to see Flight Attendants, Music Therapists, Chiropractors, Rap Artists, Doctors, Lawyers, Chefs, and host of other careers. In attendance were Mayor Still of Lawrenceville, Dr. Tarece Johnson of the Gwinnett County Board of Education, Jonathan Stacey, Fox 5 Meteorologist, and Dr. Judy Jordan Johnson, previous Mayor of Lawrenceville and daughter of H. Rhodes Jordan, to name a few. We were highlighted in the Gwinnett Daily Post and Fox 5 Atlanta gave a segment on the 6:00pm news.
- Jordan Middle School is proud of our students who exceeded their goals for the iReady Universal Screener. Our students improved by 43% on their growth from the September administration to the March administration. Students used extra learning time to work on reading and math strategies to exceed their goals.
- Jordan Middle School has focused on literacy all year. Our literacy rate grew by 15% from last year on the Georgia Milestones Assessment. Our students continue to improve in reading and this growth is providing academic gains in the other content areas.
- Jordan Middle School was recognized by the Georgia Department of Education with Operational status for its implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in the last school year. PBIS encourages positive behaviors with recognition for students who exhibit appropriate school conduct.
