All GCPS locations will be closed on Wednesday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.

In 2021, President Biden signed legislation making Juneteenth a federal holiday, and said it was one of the greatest honors he would have as president.

In honor of Juneteenth and in alignment with its status as a federal holiday, GCPS has also adopted Juneteenth as an official district holiday. This means all schools and offices will be closed, and all-district activities, including Summer Learning programs, will be canceled for the Juneteenth holiday.
