Extracurriculars
Outside of the regular school day, Gwinnett students have many opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities. Through extracurricular activities, students experience success both in and out of the classroom. Such activities may include athletics, academic competitions, before and after-school clubs, as well as various fine arts programs.
For a number of reasons, students are encouraged to participate in one or more extracurricular activities while in high school. For one, students who are involved are more connected to their school. For another, extracurricular competitions allow students to represent their school and earn recognition for their achievements. Extracurricular activities offer students a chance to learn something new or learn more about something that interests them, to develop a talent, or perform with their peers. Extracurricular activities also give students an opportunity to develop and demonstrate leadership.
Extracurricular offerings vary from school to school. For information regarding extracurricular activities at a specific school, please contact the local school directly.
The Fine Arts and extracurricular activities available within GCPS represent award-winning, enriching opportunities for students to develop their unique talents, varied interests, and learning capabilities.
