Suwanee Elementary School, the North Gwinnett Co-Op, and Walmart are teaming up to provide school supplies to more than 700 families. The “Fill That Bus” campaign focuses on providing students with the resources they need to succeed in school. The giveaway is scheduled for Saturday, July 13, and Sunday, July 14, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Walmart at 3245 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road in Suwanee. Students will receive pencils, binders, backpacks, markers, and other school supplies.
“As a school principal, I see first-hand the importance of students having the school supplies they need to give them a positive outlook for their first day of school and beyond,” says Suwanee Elementary Principal Dr. Mary B. Taylor. “I have also seen the relief on parents’ faces when they find help when needed. At Suwanee Elementary, we have a motto we strive to follow every day: ‘Create a school you love!’ Throughout this process, I have been continually blown away by the generosity and goodness of people. Each person who donated, helped coordinate, or volunteered their time can be assured they made an impact in a child's life.”
