Berkmar High School Alum and Hip Hop Artist Raises Money for Gun Violence Prevention

Berkmar High School Alum and Hip Hop Artist Quavo Huncho Raised $50,000 for Gun Violence Prevention

GRAMMY-nominated artist and philanthropist Quavo, from the hip-hop group Migos, recently returned to Berkmar High School to host the 7th Annual Huncho Day. The event, which featured a number of activities, including a football combine, 7v7 football games, and a celebrity basketball game, raised $50,000 for The Rocket Foundation in support of gun violence prevention.

Berkmar High School Principal Durrant Williams says Quavo is committed to supporting Berkmar High and giving back to the community. “Quavo stays connected to our school,” Williams shares. “He not only spends money here, he also spends time here. Quavo supports our students and wants to see them succeed. In addition, I applaud his efforts to address gun violence. He knows all too well about the impact it has on families.”
