1. The IPEVO document camera should be located and connected to the Chromebook.
2. Place your document directly under the lens of the document camera. The TOP of the document should be towards the base of the IPEVO camera.
TIP: You can scan all of your documents at one time in the order in which they will need to be uploaded. See the “Suggested Scan Order” checklist on the Organize Your Documents tab.
To scan your documents, use the IPEVO document camera and app.
3. Open the IPEVO app quickly by selecting the icon from the gray bar at the bottom of your screen. You can also open the IPEVO Visualizer App by selecting the App Launcher icon in the bottom left corner and then selecting the IPEVO Visualizer app.
4. Align your document within the display window, adjusting the camera head and/or stand, as needed. Once the view of your document is what you would like, select the camera button at the bottom of the screen to capture your image. Accessing OLR
Accessing the Online Registration System
GCPS Online Registration Homepage: When you first begin your session, the GCPS Online Registration page will open automatically in Chrome for your convenience. You have 60 minutes to complete your online registration. After 60 minutes, the session will end and all scanned documents and OLR information will be erased.
Scroll down on the GCPS Online Registration web page and select the link for your student’s enrollment (New Student or Current/Returning GCPS student).
Make a Selection to Begin Your Student’s Registration
There are multiple options to begin your registration from the GCPS Online Registration web page. Choose the option that applies.
1. I am a new parent to GCPS enrolling a new student: You do not have a Parent account, and the student has never been enrolled in a GCPS school.
2. I already have a ParentVUE account and I'm enrolling a new student: Choose this option if either of the following applies:
a. The student you are registering has attended a GCPS school at any time in the past OR
b. You have a ParentVUE account (for another active student or for a previously enrolled student).
Create an Account
Creating a ParentVUE/OLR Account
If your student is new to GCPS and you do not yet have a ParentVUE account, the new student link on the Online Registration web page will take you to the Online Registration Account Access page.
Click Create a New Account.
- You will need an active and accessible email account. You will retrieve log in information for your new parent portal account through your email.
- If you do not have an existing email address or cannot access your current email account, bookmarks are available for you to quickly access several popular email provider websites.
- Once your ParentVUE account is created, your account will open to the Online Registration (OLR) process web page.
If you already have a ParentVUE account (even if you do not currently have an active student), enter your username and password, then click Login.
- If you do not remember your password, click Forgot Password to reset your password. You will need access to your email account to reset your password. Follow the link in your email to reset your password.
One of two screens will appear:
- If you do not have a currently active student, the Online Registration will open. Choose the appropriate tile to continue.
- If you do have a currently active student, click the Online Registration tile or link to begin.
The Online Registration screens will walk you through entering the needed information to enroll your student. Part of the process will be uploading documentation to identify you, the student, your address, previous school records (if you have them), and other relevant enrollment information.
The next steps will walk you through scanning your documents to use during your online registration.
Upload Scanned Documents
Uploading Your Scanned Document Files
As you go through the steps of the online registration, you will be prompted for specific documents. You will select documents from the Chromebook’s download files. When the file is downloaded, it is temporarily saved to the Chromebook ONLY for the time of your guest session. The document scans disappear when you exit your session.
For example, you will be asked to upload a document for Home Address Verification.
Click the Upload button on the online registration screen.
The My Files folder containing downloads folder from the Chromebook will open. Click to select Downloads to access documents you previously scanned.
Choose the file to upload for the OLR question, then click the Upload button on the OLR screen.
End Your Session
End Your Guest Session
Your guest session will end automatically after an hour. However, you can manually exit the session if you are done prior to the session end time. After you exit your session, all downloaded files and internet history will be deleted automatically prior to the next session.
- From any screen, you can select the red Exit Session button in the bottom right corner.
- When you navigate outside the Chrome browser or other app windows, you are given the option to end your session. To continue, select Cancel. To end your session, select Sign out now.
