Inclusive learning and play are alive at Cooper Elementary School. The school recently unveiled a new playground that serves the needs of nearly 20 percent of its student population. The new playground is safe and accessible for students with physical challenges to have a fun and equitable recess experience. 

All GCPS locations will be closed on Wednesday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.

Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) is inviting parents and guardians, community members, and school district employees to apply for the GEMS Oversight Committee, a group of community and school system representatives charged with the annual review of the Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) curriculum standards. The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 29, 2024.

The district’s two book mobiles—called Pow and Explore—are about to hit the road to bring a summer of reading to Gwinnett County students!

On May 7, the GCPS Environmental Services Department hosted its Custodial Awards Ceremony, recognizing the district’s custodial team members.

Bus safety has always been a priority in the Gwinnett County school district and in the state of Georgia; this means continuing to make our communities a safe place to grow.
