Gwinnett County Public Schools' Social Media Statement

Please read the following information about contributing to the conversations on the district's Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram accounts.

Gwinnett County Public Schools uses social media to provide information about district programs, services, projects, news, events, celebrations, honors, and activities. We are happy to connect with our community and share positive posts in support of our students, teachers, staff, and families!

All social media platforms used by GCPS are designated as Limited Public Forums. Community-contributed comments are the opinion and responsibility of the specific author and do not represent the views or opinions of GCPS, its employees, or the Board of Education. GCPS assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or inaccuracies in content from commenters or the security of websites we do not directly manage or create.

District social media accounts are intended for positive, civil, and constructive contributions, and participants are expected to contribute in a polite and courteous manner. Employees or students who post content to the district’s social media in violation of Board policies, school rules, or district guidelines may be subject to discipline.

GCPS reserves the right, but is not obligated, to monitor content and remove comments that contain commercial solicitations; are factually erroneous/libelous; are wildly off-topic; that cannot be translated into English by Google Translate or other free online translation software, or that otherwise violate each platform’s community standards or terms of service.

Contributors should not post the following: commercial endorsements or advertisements (such as SPAM); personal attacks, harassment, or threats toward any user or entity; content that is profane, pornographic, violent, sexual, or obscene; infringement on copyrights, trademarks, or the legal ownership rights of any other party; promotion of illegal activity; or content that is misleading, discriminatory, malicious, or confidential.

We encourage users to report content or behavior that they believe to be in violation of any social media platform’s terms of service.

Thank you for your help in creating a safe and vibrant social media community.
