  • Cooper Elementary School began the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) initiative by training ten educators over a three-day training period with the plan to implement Year 1 during the 2023-2024 school year.
  • Cooper Elementary School added three special education programs during the 2022-2023 school year serving children in our community through one of three pre-kindergarten programs.
  • The Play 2 Learn Program began its inaugural year at Cooper Elementary School serving and engaging multiple families over two sessions per week.
  • Students at Cooper Elementary School participated in the annual Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Reflections Fine Arts Program, with one student’s work advancing all the way to the GA State PTA level.
  • In order to bridge the gap between home and school, parents were invited to observe in their child’s classroom during American Education Week in November. Parents were able to observe lessons in math and/or language arts, followed by learning from our Instructional Technology Integration Coaches.
  • Our local All Pro Dad’s Chapter continued to see an increase in participation throughout the year. Our local coordinator has also worked with our sister cluster elementary schools to start local chapters there.
  • Our annual International Night was another huge success. Countries from around the world were represented by families and staff members. The night culminated in a fashion show in which students and adults.
  • Our local PTA supported our moms and dads with Doughnuts with Dad and Muffins with Mom events in the spring. Both events were well attended, and our moms and dads felt honored.
  • Cooper Elementary School hosted our annual STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)  Night. The Georgia Tech Drone Team was a huge hit as they did demonstration flights and races for our students, staff, and parents.
