- In partnership with the American Heart Association, Fort Daniel Elementary students and staff raised over $10,000 through the Hoops for Heart program. Our school placed fourth in the district for this fundraiser. The school also participated in fundraisers for United Way and Relay for Life.
- Fort Daniel offered a range of enrichment activities and clubs, including Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Art Club, Robotics Club, Garden Club, Chorus and Safety Patrol.
- Fort Daniel Elementary students participated in the GCPS Regional Science, Engineering and Innovation Fair in February. Also in December, our Lego League Robotics Team won the Robot Design Award at the Mountain View High School's Regional Competition.
- Fort Daniel continued to cultivate student leaders through our fifth grade Student Peer Leaders Program. Peer Helpers worked with younger students and students with disabilities to serve as role models.
- Our PTA donated funds to increase resources for students in the classroom and on the playground. They sponsored numerous community events, including Fun Run Fundraiser, Family Bingo Night and Spring Carnival.
- Fort Daniel teachers and administrators hosted Parent Information Nights, Literacy Night, Math Night and STEM Night.
- Fort Daniel Elementary Hawk Chorus students opened a baseball game for the Gwinnett Stripers by singing the National Anthem in April to a full capacity stadium. Chorus students also presented their spring concert to a standing room only crowd in April. During this event many students shared solo performances to showcase their talents.
- Fort Daniel Elementary served as a EL Education Language Arts Pilot School for Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Teachers received year-long professional learning to support implementation of the program. This supports our goal to provide High Quality Instructional Materials.
- Fort Daniel Elementary was recognized by the Georgia Department of Education with Operational status for implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) School. PBIS encourages positive behaviors with recognition for those students who exhibited appropriate school conduct.
- Fort Daniel Elementary PTA and staff sponsored numerous events including Breakfast with Santa, Masquerade Ball, Family Fun Night, Spring Carnival, and Fun Run Fundraiser. Our PTA lead students in various community service projects and for their efforts, received district awards and recognition for the PTA Cares and Cozy Coats donation collection programs.
- Fort Daniel Elementary is a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) school. PBIS encourages positive behaviors with recognition for students who exhibit appropriate school conduct.
